Index page- what to put?

I have purchase domain name and have very reliable server (paid one), and wonder what would you recommend to put in the index page.
I was thinking about articles, but there are so many different softwares to use, which one?

And another question- is there any software that put instant index page with articles?

I would download WordPress and follow the Directions they give you. Word Press is really nice and there are many professional templates you can find for it. Also you should write your own articles or pay someone to write some for you. Don't use old articles. Use new ones. Write Articles that go with your domain name and to get people to your site...post on other people's blogs. No spamming. Just nice professional comments. Be friendly and educate others and they will flock to your blog that has articles on it. Just my advice.

Thanx for that. But I don't want to anything else after domain name in the browser. So they go directly to index page. And with wordpress you need something after domain.com/something here

If you install WP in root directory, when a user visits your domain name it will see your WP blog... it doesn't need to be domain. com/blog(or something else). You should be more precise if you want a better answer... or maybe I'm the only one who doesn't understand clearly what you meant.
