I would cancel the domain once the year is up. You should (if put to get good use) have made enough to get another domain along with hosting.

guys register the domain for 0.5$ wait 60 days and transfer it to your favourite register
I have domains on them, when I am going to transfer it. They asked to call their support. not chat, not ticket, but call.

based on the ICANN rules, the register need to provide a way to retrieve the authcode by online form... and not only by calling
here the tutorial to transfer it: (PS: you need to wait 60 days after the registration)
