Hi,

I'm doing some SEO work on my websites. Its going pretty well, but my CF got through the roof. My CF/TF ratio is about 2.5 now- I want to get this down to at least 1.8. So, I need a bit more TF.

I did some research but most websites are contradicting eachother; some say you just need backlinks from good domains (which I already have, all backlinks are from domains with a CF/TF ratio of 2 or lower). Others say people need to click on those backlinks to raise the TF.

Any info would be great!

Getting back links from good domains will raise TF. I've not heard or seen any evidence that clicking on those back links will funnel through more 'trust' to your site, but it could be a property of majesticseo and a way to further refine their metrics. I would just focus on building good links and doing things that are within your control. With the exception of PBN links as they are unlikely to garner natural clicks, things like blog outreach where real people can see and click through to your site might further benefit your metrics. Don't get too caught up with boosting TF, though. It's just a third-party metric and seldom reflects what's going on in the SERPS. Do the right things and you'll see it grow naturally.

Trust flow is calculated based on how closely your site is linked to "trusted seed" sites, which are sites that have been manually reviewed by the majestic team to be of "quality" (I'm going to assume these sites have a TF near or of 100).

Just in case you don't know, these are 3rd party metrics that serve to estimate a domain's ranking power, with the keywords there being estimate and 3rd party.

Keep one simple concept in your mind,to greater you sites, you need to link it with greater TF sites.

Thanks for the great resplies!

final question; do backlinks from penalized websites and websites in a totally different niche hurt my website? Thanks!!

Interesting feed back. Just keep in mind trust flow is topical, so if you own a site about video games, you need to get links from video game related sites to increase trust flow!

From penalised sites? Potentially, yes. Totally different niche? No, though you should always strive to get relevant links where possible.
