Saw this on fiverr and wondered if this guy is scamming or i could damage my ranking if he used black hat methods.
The gig can be found under the title
I will genuinely increase the page rank of your website by 1 for $5

Im new to SEO and can not afford to be banned by Google as its my only source of income :(

I wouldnt do it, only one feedback "No proof yet but hopeful thanks". Only try such things with domains you don't use.

<sarcasm>
I wonder what they would say if I bought this for one of my PR5 domains. Also, would $50 get me a PR 10 if I use them all on 1 site?
</sarcasm>

All kidding aside, I wouldn't trust them.

PR don't have anything to to with rankings, unless you are selling links stay way :)

lol. As far as I know, there's not a definitive way to increase your page rank.

Do you really think anyone would sell this massive secret for 3.92?

My thoughts exaclty, my 6 year old site is PR4 and i dont want to mess things up

Definitely scam, as mentioned above, PR jump is harder at every stage, so 0-3 is is, 3-4 hard, 4-5 very hard etc...

I reckon the guy will do something (link build or whatever) then say PR will take 8 weeks to update or something like that - by the time it doesn't update, the gig is already closed...???

Forget it then, you build up your site for 6 years and you want to better it with $5 -common you know better than that.

I tried it. It when up and 30days later dropped 2

Don't waste your time with that, PR updates are so sporadic these days who knows how long you'd be waiting.

You'd see better results from buying some link packages, atleast at that point you could actually see some increased PR at some point.

The seller can't guarantee that.

Oh and you wouldnt get banned for buying a 5$ link.

Bear in mind the majority of people who talk about being banned dont know what they are talking about.

I deffo call bullshit on that one. As if this guy can just claim that for a fiver.

Sounds like he has got a ton of pre made throw away paypal accounts and is in it sore some smash and grab money.

Or he's probably not doing anything at all and claiming that he is. Do ou really think he'd waste time with redirects for a $5 gig?

I think its a scam. And there is no guaranty to get PR ;)
