No spoilers here.
I just came back from watching Inception.
In my opinion it is an epic movie simply because you think you know what's going on, but in reality, you could have been wrong the whole time.
The ending was solid without a doubt. It wasn't a set ending that resolved the whole story. But neither was it too open ended that left millions of possibilities to be questioned. The ending was either one path or another, and you could "choose" which one you want to believe.
Also, the film isn't exactly a "mindfuck" the whole time. You know what is going on, but the ending just slaps you and proves you wrong. That's where the mindfuck comes in because the whole thing seems like a paradox.
The movie talks about dreams, believing, paradoxes, and knowing the difference between fantasy and reality, and this is exactly what the person watching the movie is doing. You think you know what is going on, but in reality, you could be completely wrong.
I highly recommend this film. There were a lot of things going on, so it's kind of hard to keep up.
I still think The Usual Suspects tops this one. If you haven't seen it, do it now. That film has one hell of an ending that mindfucks you 10x more than Inception. That's all I'll say.
So what did you guys think?
