By freebie site you mean the usual sites giving away X amount of money for X referrals who complete an offer? or a Wii, PS3, etc?
Exactly right. Or just paying people to fill out offers, also called a GPT (Get Paid To) site. There are literally thousands of them out there, some good, some bad. There's a whole underground community of people with their own sub-language to describe the industry. As Maestro said above, there are people who actually make a full time living managing their network of referrals filling out offers on various networks.
Pretty interesting subculture actually.
IMO though, most of the sites are crap and the people running them are retarded for wasting a HUGE opportunity. Scrabbling to make a few bucks per person, burning them out, not paying them then running off into the woods to play with the few hundred bucks they made.
The real money in these things is either doing it right and getting thousands of users, or realizing how to spin it so that each visitor to your site is worth hundreds of dollars; maybe even low thousands if you work it right.
I'm working on a site right now that will do the latter. But it's real work. A real job. Not just set it and forget it and make $50 a day. I'm talking setting it up right, outsourcing, hiring and potentially seeing $2-4k a day, just from the one site.
Hmmm. Just realized I'm rambling. Sorry. Back to work for me.
