In what to invest?

I have $1000 and i want to invest in a business. I would prefer to make it a local business because I have a place that I'm not using.
I also have an idea for a 3D cinema but I think I am going to have problems with copyright.

Go to a website called Flippa. There's loads of Turnkey websites there for you to invest $1000 on. But then it would be your job to flip your site for more potential though.

That is a nice amount to start off with ecommerce site.

Well you could start an internet cafe and every Sundays or Saturdays you hold I.M classes where you teach people how to make money from the internet.

But I need to do something with the place I have. It's in the center of the capital. A lot of people go through it everyday.

Here's an idea:

Use $1k to buy a website with an existing business, page views, maybe a client or two with a powerful supplier. Something like dropshipping website but the dropshipper allows you to buy their products in bulk for resale.

Then use the rest of the money (i.e. $3k) to buy those products, put it up in your shop and sell it there too. So people can buy your product online and offline.

I'm really thankfull to all the replies but I need something different. I have a doner right now and it's having bad sales. I need something better than it. Also the one that gets us to the idea that we will be doing might become a partner if he wants.

What's a "doner"?

Check out bizbuysell.com. They have different business. Also, search for franchises where you don't need a lot of start up capital. Honestly though, an online business might be the best bang for your buck if you aren't tied into local businesses.

So you got $1k and you are thinking of opening a 3d Cinema. To compete against Imax I guess ye?

With all honesty, $1k is not a really large investment, but the investment that counts the most is time. I would not think as the $1k as a business opportunity, instead, I would think of my time as a business opportunity and when the time came, if needed I would invest the $1k, but do not plan on anything with $1k because most likely you will go overbudget.

Anyways, if you want to invest locally and you have a place you do not use, you can do the following:

- Convert that space into an office and rent it (best thing to do IMO)
- Convert that space into a massage clinic. Hire a couple of people and get things moving. Massages are always popular and im sure you can come up with a bright idea to compete against the other local services.
- Hire some teachers and do some classes? languages should go well.

All in all, I would advice to think from a different point of view than the "ive got $1k". There are many options out there, but ultimately it is only you who will see the best way forward.

what ever u do just don the cinema, what about a sandwich shop if none near as people always need food and only need a few fridges etc

3D gaming - I know a guy who started this kind of business 2 years ago in a city with 100k. He started with 3 computers and rented the place from an owner. He now has 3 locations in that city and another 5 in a bigger one (800k).
If you would need more money than 4k to startup you can rent your place for a few months and after that... you can get money from all kinds of sources: organising Starcraft2 contests or other games, selling 3D equipment for home usage, etc + you would have usual customers (you can offer membership cards).
If your place is located near a school, the better. The thing you could start with this idea could get you far.
