Hello... wanna know if i change my .in forum to .net for some reasons will it really lose big traffic? What should i do?

You can move your site to .com and then redirect your .in domain to .com

changing extension from .in to any will effect your traffic

You can do a 301 redirect, that will take some time to reflect, but effective. There is a bit of drop for sure, but you will get back by making this new site active.

thanks I always see that 301 redirect as a suggestion but not that sure yet that if its what i really want. as of now im thinking just to add the .net domain then because im afraid to lose traffic. ist possible that i have now 2 domains on 1 website? and i want the new domain to be the primay domain. is that possible? im using hostgator and godaddy for the domain. what should i do? thanks

Just transfer all files to new domain name before changing also set a redirect from your old domain to new one

You can try doing 301 redirect to the new domain, but if I was you, then I would not have bothered doing it. It's a big risk that you are taking considering you already have big traffic. Instead, try to make a new forum and try making it popular too. You can use your old forum to do announcements/advertising etc.

Better solution is to make use of a .com domain if you are ready for redirection.
If you do a permanent redirect you will not have SEO problems.

How can you guarantee that? What if he has a penalized domain as for example? Don't be so sure...

This is another story g0g0l , if the domain is banned or penalised of course its not good idea to do anything with that
