After 7th March google fred update my website hit badly.
I have 170+ posts. It was rapidly growing website(now 9 month old site). Almost all main keywords were ranking under 100 position. 60% posts main keyword were ranking below 50 position. 25% were ranking below 20 positon. And 5% keywords were ranking no. 1 page.
After fred update, I have lost almost 80% visitors. In this 1.5 months I only able to see 20% maximum recover(still 60% loss) for a few days. Now, almost constant at 72% loss.
I have lots of post so i cannot update all post at a time. But, applied various theory on few posts. But, I have not seen any dramatic improvement.
What I did so far:
1) No duplicate issues (Tags, categories no-index for my website).
2) Backlinks anchor text ratio maximum 12% of naked url. All other anchor text ration less than 8%.(According to ahref).
3) Deleted any affiliate link from first paragraph.
4) My most of the posts keywords density below 0.5%. I have seen a few of my competitors ratio more than that but still ranking.
5) I tried to reduce affiliate link but not seeing any notable improvement.
What my feeling now:
This google update directly Hit my homepage not my any specific page. Thus, affiliate link, keyword density, backlinks anchor ratio etc isn't the main reason.
Reasons:
1) I am using https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ this theme with exactly same demo of my homepage. Look closely, Homepage each post outing single posts with exact title. And it has more than 70 links of homepage.
I had similar menu too but later I removed that and added only categories as menu. But, didn't show any improvement.
2) Homepage backlinks was 50% and one post has 35% backlinks(Actually, I wanted to rank this keywords because it has good amount search volume and I ranked this keyword before on other site and got better result than any other) and only a few post have 15% backlinks. But almost 70% of my posts wasn't any single backlinks but still ranking below 50 position(few were top 10 without any single links).
I wanted to create more authority by creating of my homepage links.
But Later,(after fred update) I realize homepage backlinks should be removed and instead that directed to the single posts. Because my homepage wasn't any content only posts link. I reduced homepage backlinks and now only have bleow 25-30%. I have completed that process almost 7 days ago but still not showing any improvement(Most of the backlinks came from guest post + forum links). For guest posts i request webmaster to change the homepage links to single post link. Who took money for guest post they did that without any questions.
3) I think this could be main reasons.
My domain name has "best" word. And my almost every post link have best word too. Like bestexample.com and other post bestexample.com/best-one, bestexample.com/best-another etc.
Basically, My domain name still brand-able (No search volume for was for domain but included one of the big category keyword/name).
Now, What i want to do:
1) Bought a new domain. This 3 word domain doesn't have any kind keywords.
2) I want to redirect my existing domain to new domain.
3) I want to make homepage statics. I will write my 15 main posts(each post 100-200 words) unique description and link-out those single posts.
Please suggest me. I am doing right or wrong? What will be your suggestion?
