I bought a website for blog and its keyword is postcardideas. Sub keywords in articles are "funny postcards" or "business postcards" etc. Main keyword gets 10k monthly searches and 600k total results. Sub keywords get 1-10k month and 500k-10 million results. Is it a problem that my main keyword is not connected wholly to sub keywords and are the sub keywords too generic. Am i competing against "postcards"? Aiming to write many articles to reach at least 50 dollars a day some day..

I've read your question about 15 times now and I have no idea what you just asked.
Man i read the bluematter guide to get a 100$ a day blog. He talked about finding a niche for your main keyword and also building like 80 articles with sub keywords relating to the main one.
My postcardideas is just an example but it relates well to my current situation. Everything else is good but the main keyword is connected to the articles only by the word "postcards" and im afraid its too generic. So is it okay to build on postcards if monthly searches for the articles and advertising etc is good?

It actually looks natural if not every article is directly tied to the main keyword. As long as the content is LSI-related to postcards, you'll probably be fine.
