Improving site stats with expired domains

This might be a stupid question but would this work? I have a website that's doing pretty well but I want to get more traffic to it. So let's say I buy some cheap expired domains (with tons of backlinks) and then redirect these domains to my website. Would this boost my organic traffic and seo?

The answer will always be of mixed response. It will always have a negative or positive change on your website. Although you need to do a thorough research to find the domain with perfect links that have not be spammed.. But to be on the safer side, a domain in your niche which is not spammed and have relevant links have a higher chance of positively affecting your SERP.
