Improving Indexing

Hi guys!

Pleasure to be part of the forum. I am working with a client in the eccomerce space and only there home page is indexing.

There are a ton of internal links from the home page, all sitemaps have been submitted and there arnt' any no-index tags in place. Any ideas around why the other 399 pages arn't indexing?

For context the site is about 6 months old and the sitemaps were submitted a few months ago

Thank you - GSC isn't giving me much insight around sitemap errors but the website has very few backlinks. I will try submit pages individual and look to building backlinks as a priority - thank you

When was the last time you submitted the site to GSC for indexing? Submit some of those pages individually and it should give you a reason as to why they can’t be or weren’t indexed.

Thank you it is a good tip around submitting pages individually - will give it a go. I submitted the sitemaps to GSC 3 weeks ago - but the site last been live for six months. I may be a bit impatient

• Check your robot directives are allowed to crawl.
• Check if your site has crawl errors or not.
• Check your site to see whether it has duplicate and spam content.
• Check for manual actions are penalties incurred by violating the rules.
• Check whether the content is updated or not. If not, make your content better than the best around.
• Check if the content is too similar to something else you published before.
• Check whether the topic has a search volume or not.

Hey mate, I actually havn't i am open to any other ideas. The client has a .co domain and I discovered a .co.uk address with the exact same domain name that the client doesn't own and looks spammy - is it possible that the clients domain got manually affected due to this?
