Improve website’s DR

DR is Ahrefs' metric based on backlink profile strength. Social signals and citations barely move it. You need editorial backlinks from sites Ahrefs already recognizes as strong.

Focus on getting links from sites with DR 40+ in your niche. One strong link from a relevant, high-DR site will move your DR more than 50 weak citations. Also, ensure your links are indexed. Use a free indexer or ping the URLs in GSC. Ahrefs can't count links it hasn't crawled yet. Check the "Live" status of your guest posts in Ahrefs' Backlink profile. If they're not there, they're not counted.
Any advice on the best way to actually land those strong DR40+ editorial links in practice?

Hi everyone, I’m still quite new to SEO and could use some advice.

I was assigned to improve my website’s DR, so I’ve been running an off-page campaign that includes social entity work, local citations, and guest posts. The problem is that my DR hasn’t moved at all, and the number of referring domains in Ahrefs also isn’t increasing.

What should I do next?
Can you share your website, i can check the status of your website. I can suggest your more precisely what your website needs, backlink analysis aswell. hope this finds you well.

To increase DR, you need backlinks from high-DR sites that are favored by Ahrefs.

DR doesn't jump overnight, so definitely keep pushing those hqguest posts for actual ******** links from awesome sites, because that's what truly counts and ahrefs takes a hot minute to update

Stop chasing DR, it's just a vanity metric, focus on traffic. If your referring domains aren't growing, your link sources are likely low quality or blocked

DR doesn’t move from low-value links. Focus on getting real referring domains from quality sites (guest posts, niche edits). Also make sure links are indexed
