Hi everyone, I’m still quite new to SEO and could use some advice.

I was assigned to improve my website’s DR, so I’ve been running an off-page campaign that includes social entity work, local citations, and guest posts. The problem is that my DR hasn’t moved at all, and the number of referring domains in Ahrefs also isn’t increasing.


What should I do next?

It’s normal to not see DR move right away. Some links take time to get crawled and counted. Make sure the sites you’re getting links from are real and have good authority. Try adding a few stronger backlinks instead of many weak ones. Also keep improving your content and internal linking, because that helps Google trust your site more. With patience and better link quality, the DR will start to grow.
 
If your DR and referring domains are not increasing, it usually means the links you are building are not being indexed or recognised by Ahrefs, so focus on getting them crawled and using higher authority, indexable sources.

The sites linking to you can be of low quality or not being indexed if your referring and DR domains have not changed. Diversify your strategy with actual outreach, digital PR, and linkable material; focus on developing high-quality, niche-relevant backlinks; ensure that your citations and socials get indexed. Keep in mind that DR is process-heavy, so focus on quality above quantity.

No, nofollow backlinks from major websites do not increase DR.
DR only moves from do follow links that pass link equity.

They do help with trust, brand signals, and traffic though.
 
DR only goes up when you get new, quality referring domains that Ahrefs can see. Make sure your links are live, do-follow, and from different, relevant websites. Also be patient — Ahrefs takes time to update. Focus on quality over quantity.
