Improve on-page SEO...

Hey guys, just designing a template http://dev.ethinksolution.com/templates/02/# that I'm going to be building a lot of websites from. What I need to know, how can I make the on-page SEO better. Example, where should I use the h1 tag? the main content? Or the header / footer? Because that's where I'm putting keywords. Each site built on this template will be targeting a different keyword.

Ok if you are on wordpress get SEOpressor plugin.

I would recomand title of each page is different(targeting the keyword relevant to article on page).H1 tag should be on the beginning,h2 should be in first few lines(just decrease its size so it blends with the remaining txt)h3 same as h2,h4 as h3....

Meta tags for each post should be different(again they should target keyword relevant to the article on page)
Also you should have multiple meta-tags on each page.
If you are on wordpress you should get a sitemap generator so googlebot can index all of your pages easily.
If you have EMD you can do something wicked like this.Lets say your emd domains is faceplace.com well when making new post you can make that post in faceplace folder and have faceplace keyword in title.So when google index your page url would be something like faceplace.com/faceplace/what_is_faceplace.htm


One more thing is redudancy in title.Meaning that you can say same thing multiple times in title by saying it with different words.Here is a way you can target like 5 keywords if you are doing clickbank reviews.TITLE: Energy by Testla Scam - Review.Is it legit?

Also when you create you page add your articles imidietly and do all the seo then ping all the pages
Submit your sitemap to google analyze and google webmaster so you get indexed fast.Next go to some big social bookmarking site bookmark all your pages.Then ping the bookmarks,rss submit the pages,rss submit the bookmarks,and ping the rss.

If you are making foreign site(language other than english) your main menu should be in that language your site is.Generate the sitemap ASAP.
Also I see your h1 is welcome to our company on main page.I recomand to change it to your keyword+relevant text.

Also I looked in your source code and you dont have a title specified nor meta-tags,you should add those fast.

Also you can check keyword density with SEOpressor(about 1-3% is good for kw density)

Also add an image and make an alt tag your keyword and make it clickable and make it point to your main page or some other page.This is called deep linking.


if you have robot.txt on your host make sure googlebot can crawl your site.

Thank you for those replies, as these will be sub domains of my actual main website. I'm not looking to be doing much SEO work, as they will rank for the keyword easily because there wont be much competition, but by building 1000 sites you will get traffic.

Also my main website is not in wordpress, so is there any other programs I can install with my template that would allow me to check the keyword density?

Well kw density is basically how many times there is your keyword in text.Lets say you have you keyword 10x in 100 word article,then your keyword density would be 10%

You can calculate it easy.If you have 400 word on page and your keyword is showing 12 times you have kw density of 3%
