I am using a pay-per-GB proxy
Some tasks consume it very quickly.
Is there any tool that can help improve this?

Some proxy services offer built-in data compression to reduce the amount of data transferred. Like Opera Turbo or Squid Proxy, they can automatically compress web traffic to reduce consumption, especially on image-intensive websites.

Here. I used it. Without the tool I would have used 2.71GB but it saved me. And I only used 0.28GB

If your pay-per-GB proxy is running out quickly, you may want to try tools like ProxyRack or ScraperAPI to optimize its usage.

It depends on how much control you have over the tasks. For example if you're using a bot that uses a headless browser, do you really need to download all images if you're just scraping text or urls? Also, make sure your bot sends appropriate Accept-Encoding headers so you can make use of savings from gzip/brotli etc

You can rotate the IP to avoid overloading a single IP, clear cache to remove background apps that's eating up the data on the background or switch to a proxy that provides unlimited data.

Weigh in your options. For example, it's not difficult to find mobile proxies with IP rotation and unlimited data. Residential IPs are usually a good go to on the net anyway.

If you're using them in a browser you can use an adblock plugin to block images and big files
