So I'm trying to get a walk-in interview with a digital media firm(mobile, websites etc.)

The guy likes me but he wants me to impress him with something. A video, website, song, etc.

What should I do? I know how to make wordpress sites but other than that that's all I can really do.

I showed him an archive of my old site but he said it's not what he is looking for. He won't tell me what specifically though.

Any thoughts?

His site is really well done. But that's an idea. Getting a nice template then taking all the info from his site and putting on mine?

That's actually a pretty good idea. I might end up doing that but if anyone still has ideas please let me know.

and lol @ the love song.

EDIT: I notice they don't really have a sales video with words. I don't know if companies do have something like that but I was thinking of firing up camtasia, going to their site and just talking about what it offers.

So guys i made a small video "blog style" website with all of the youtube videos as they did not have something like that.

I think its creative and hopefully will work. My best chance.

I'll let you know if i get the job.

Maybe:

"The guy likes me but he wants me to impress him with something. A video, website, song, etc." - Means he's not interested?

That or he actually wants you to jump through hoops to impress him, I mean, I don't know that I'd waste my time with an employer who is so vague with what he wants done. Then again, if it's a good / high paying job maybe impressing him is what it takes, because he wants only "winners" on his team.

Nah I don't have an impressive resume so he just wanted to see what my creative potential was.

I literally spent an hour on it. He emailed me today at noon saying he's impressed and I have an interview lined up for Monday.

I'm going to prepare all weekend for this. It's a GREAT job and opportunity, especially for someone like me with limited credentials.

Guys jobs are out there you just have to put the effort. Although I didn't get the job yet I'm fairly confident I'll get it. Will update next week. Hopefully people could get motivated.

What's the job title you are going for? A video, a website or a song are all very different things. It honestly, to me, sounds like an enormous waste of your time.

Had the interview last Monday and got the job the same day. I start this Monday.
Really excited as this is a fantastic opportunity for me to learn new skills and gain valuable experience.

The interview itself was mad chill and he had asked me what I liked to do for fun, what I watched, listened to, etc.; still was nervous though.
Yes, the job is worth it. He wanted to see if I had a passion for online marketing, so I showed him.

Was it worth it? Hell yeah. I'm going to be working in NY city, one of the best cities in the world... doing a job I love.
