My first try using content lock pro was a total disaster. The first time i tried pushing people to a site that had content lock pro installed for the super bowel.
Hundreds of clicks and only 1 person completed a dating offer. Big Fail!

Then i gave it a second chance and created a new site, pushed it to page 1 within a week and waited.
Only 1 person has completed the offer out of hundreds. Another big failure for "WATCH MAN OF STEEL ONLINE"

So what am i doing wrong? Why are people not completing the offers?

Is anyone really making money with this or is it just a bunch of hype?

Nobody wants to see a super intestine, that's why that one failed :D

On a serious note, trust me it's not just hype. You just have to figure out how to "motivate" them to complete the offers.
Ask yourself this, what would "motivate" you to complete an offer to unlock something?
Also, you might just need an increase in traffic. Sometimes I don't see accurate "testing" results until the traffic levels reach the thousands.

I am not into content locking, never tried it even, but just reading your post show a clear reason why you failed.
Placing dating offers to people who might be interested in Super Bowl is not a way to get people to fill offers. Some sport related offer, tickets or whatever connected to sport would be more successful. If you are not following their flow of thinking and "connect" offers with locked content you are loosing that already slim chance to get offer filled.

People, including me, do make money with content locking. So I can assure you it's not just a hype.

Try to think of niches/products people would have to pay real money to get (just to test if it works). Explain to them on the locker that you are giving it to them free and saving them $xx. I'm sure you'll get enough conversions to convince yourself that it works.

Many people I know earn good money with CPA and by good money I mean 80-100$/day. You can easily take a look at the journals which were opened regarding this method.

I will tell you my experience with CPA: 1 domain, 3 Youtube Videos, 40 content pages ( small ones: 100-150 words), small SEO and my earnings with AWM and Adnooka are something like 120$ in 15 days. The amount is not huge but it's good for the beginning, I have something to build on and scale in the future.

Read the journals ( there are 2-3 very long but with cool info) from BHW and I am sure you will figure out how to earn decent with CPA.

Hope it helps :)

I earn 300 - 500 p/d (screenshot available upon request) using CPA offers, but not content locking. I cant seem to have any success with it.

The person who stated that i was offering the wrong cpa offers and should offer tickets and popcorn for a movie site, i ask you, where do you find such offers?
I simply tried many different types of CPA offers and dating was one of them. There was Redbox, Ipad and iphone offers on the same locker. That should have spawned interest. I still have people visiting the movie site without a single conversion. I just dont get it. Whos making money at this?

Definitely not all hype. Plenty of people are making good money with content locking. I did a JV once with a movie site... we got a good bit of traffic (700-1000 hits daily) and we would get tons of clicks on the offers. The offers we're always related to "movies" and we only used high paying offers (credit card submit) Out of close to 300-400 offer clicks we would get about 6 leads... but since they were so high paying it was like $100/day

Now that's with movies... most people aren't desperate enough to complete a credit card submit offer just to watch a movie. So we got over this hump by offering movies that weren't even in theaters yet lol :D

You just have to be creative and make it so the visitor MUST HAVE the content.

Either that or you can just send a sh*t load of traffic to your page from YouTube or something and hope some of the people convert.

When I said CPA I was thinking about content locking automatically since I use CLP :) So it's not basically a big difference from I first stated.

Wyatt is right. It is a non-sense for many people to take surveys ( people hate real life surveys, how do you think they feel about online ones? :D ) for movies?

Check your PM :)

It is not impossible to make money with content locking.I myself do it but make very little money atm.
Just be creative and think outside the box.

You can still earn quite big with content locking but nowhere near as much as you could in the old days. About 1.5 years ago I was banking big with it. (around $5-10k per day) but that was with fb virals. I was not getting a good conversion rate but I made that much because of the amount of traffic I had (If I remember correctly, I had around 10k visitors online all day).

If I was in the same situation 3-4 years ago then I could probably retire now but the problem that content locking has always had is that it is slowly dying. People are getting sick to death of surveys and can spot one a mile off these days. Most people now know that if they fill in this survey, they aint going to get that free iPad, but instead, they will get a spammed inbox.

I am not saying that it is dead, but if you want to earn big with it, you need alot more traffic compared to the old days

Well, there is a problem with the approach you took. I am actually about to write a post and release it tonight about this exact problem when it comes to marketing. First, everyone is losing alot of money not running their websites like businesses. It's not as effective to force lead fillouts, if you are absolutely going to, then the best option is to at least presell and get them interested, sell them on whatever they are looking for, (movie, weightloss etc. etc.) and capture the lead THEN send them to the CPA if nothing else.

Also, I feel like a broken record reminding each and every thread it feels like of what is without a doubt the most underused practice in IM, tracking your data beyond the regular, the more information the better.

Thanks. Would like to discuss this with you on Skype.

Money can be made with this you just need to think of a target audience and market towards it. I just got into it with a thread here:

http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...ow-my-site-went-viral-making-300-700-day.html

With that information and little to no effort in the adult niche with a specific twist it was easy as pie. Think as your target audience not as a website developer and content locking will work for you.
