Importing email list to Fanpage with .csv file?

I just started a fanpage for my website and I'm a little bit confused after going through both facebook and these forums.

I have an email list, which I have obtained through CL and kijiji replies for my product, as well as directly through the email forms setup on my website. I want to send a 'like' request to these email addresses for my new FB fanpage.

On facebook under: 'edit page' -> 'Resources' -> 'Tell your fans', there is an option to inform your fans through an e-mail list. I used my exported list from thunderbird and uploaded that onto facebook.

Now when I do that facebook says that it will send a suggestion to like my fanpage to users already with facebook and send an email to join facebook to users without it already. I did a test with some of my own personal emails and it only seemed to send a join facebook request to emails without facebook. It didn't send anything to the emails already with facebook. For emails with facebook shouldn't a like request be showing up in the notifications, or am I completely off base here?

I noticed some other people have been having this issue of it not sending the like requests, but some claim that this method does in fact send.

Can someone clarify for me whether this works or not? Would I be better to just send an email out with a 'like' link to my email list? I'm sort of concerned everything would end up in junk mail if I did that.

Okay, thanks for the info. It's just weird that they'd keep it on their site if it's no longer functional.

Guess I'll just send out the like suggestion myself in an email.

I just need emails + passwords facebook account, have a bot to add hundreds easily to any facebook page but dont have these emails+pass
