I have a copy of an ebook on how to get 5000 friends in 7 days by uploading big contact files each day. Surely this will look dodgy to FB and they'll ban within a few days no?

Well I followed the same technique and after adding nearly 3 friends facebook blocked my account for adding new friends to the list. Now I am not able to add any more friends :(

Still looking for realistic technique to add 5k friends.

I did a one off upload, then from now on just adding 20-30 a day manually
 
I know exactly which eBook you are speaking of, and trust me, it is outdated. Your accounts will be disabled very quickly. The eBook still has some useful information in it, but the info pertaining to uploading contact files is outdated.

Furthermore, people have been having trouble uploading contact files on FB as of late.
 
They turned the import CSV function off -.-

Try the following thing... create xx hotmail accounts and import your csv lists (1list with 1k per account) into your hotmail contact database. then just connect facebook with the hotmail user and voila.. :)
 
yeah they will ban you... so you can use it but you need to do it like 20-50 per day max...
 
I don't understand why they would ban you for say uploading 1K contacts in one go.
I mean, isn't it understandable that someone may really have 1K contacts in his Outlook (Gmail, Hotmail or else) address book when he is about to join Facebook and he wants to be connected with them?

I wouldn't think they would ban your account just on the premises that you have a big contact list. Perhaps people do other fishy stuff right after this exercise and THAT is what gets their accounts banned?
