Important question regarding internal linking

Hello guys,

Since im running a webstore I have several subcategories with different importancy as far as revenue etc. So what im wondering is what would you suggest of the following methods:

A) Focus on building links to top 3 categories (It will be difficult to do this using PBN while keeping only 1 OBL per domain, or rather expensive)

B) Focus on building all links to main page and from there link to whichever categories I like.


Please could someone that has a deep understanding of the pros/cons shed some light on this matter?

Dont focus only the main page,instead go with other pages also,like blogs etc.Which will give you good diversity of course.

Ye ofcourse but to get maximum out of my PBN should i point them to the main page? Or category page?
Also follow up q, how safe is it to use 2.0 as an alternative and GSA the shit out of them with as strict filters as possible on tier 2,3. Im just afraid of Google detecting it since its a legit business.
