So I bought an expired domain with the trademark in name. It is something like samsung-day.org. It was this company's domain in the past but they abandoned it.

The company is big. The question is can I use it if I am planning to use it as PBN? I obviously won't use any of their logos, etc.

You can probably use it but if they notice that they will probably take ownership of domain

You can use that as long as they allow (not claim) you to do that.
Monitor emails associated with that domain name for possible requests from their end.
You are going to use that for PBN and that would be not that much investment from your end.

They might have missed to renew it mostly, There is a risk involved if another party is a big player who notices traffic is redirecting to your site having their TM name and end up asking you to pay a fine for it along with getting back the domain via UDRP. Especially names like Samsung are a well-known brand in the world.

I've done this countless times and sometimes even sold the domain back to the previous owner, just sold one recently in water sports niche.

If they found out you will lose it. 301 however is fine.

How come they are willing to pay you for it instead of filing a claim and taking it by force?

Well, when you use "Samsung" in your domain name, you are using trademark of the company.

What you can do is, adding a text saying "we aren't affiliated or managed by Samsung Company" to prevent any complaint.
Of course you can still have complaints even with that message, but it will decrease the probability.

If you don't care about domain, you just want to use and you don't worry if you lose it.
Then use Njal.la, Flokinet, Alexhost to register a domain with Crypto payment (or if you prefer you can do it with Paypal)
