    Hello BHWers,

You are great helpers and no one can deny that. On BHW there so many wonderful and knowledgeable people and ready to help.

I am trying to make one authority website to start my IM life after many ups and downs positives and negatives.

I did some keyword research using Market Samurai and after few days of good work came across 25+ keywords in the same niche that seem promising. But when I go into Majestic SEO section for each and every keyword I find few things that are concerning me.

Here is the sneak peak on the stats of the keywords I narrowed down.

    keywords pics.jpg

The main concern I have with respect to all the keywords is that in Majestic SEO the top 10 competitors for each keywords show Domain Age of above 10+ yrs. The PR isn't that much and link on page or link to page or edu and gov links are also very low or not even one for the keyword.

Also, the on page seo is not at all optimized by most of the competitors for the keyword (ON page criteria with respect to Market Samurai).

All these keywords are cross verified using SpyFu to know about the bidders history as I am thinking to make an adcence site (misspelled deliberately) . SpyFu also shows the competition to be around 40-55 difficulty.

Please help me in making a decision, lots on staKe.

    Regards,

I do not use MarketSamurai or Spyfu, although my advice to you is to ask yourself the following questions about the keywords:
    1. Are your competitors competing for the exact keyword? For example, I was researching a couple of similar keywords recently (which I will refer to as "colour" and "color") where I noticed that the top competitor for "colour" was different than "color". Not only that, the top competitor for "colour" was a smaller website that targeted "colour" while the other websites didn't.
    2. Are there any variations of the keyword that you could target? These variations, also known as LSI keywords, are often better to target for smaller websites than their more popular variations. Another strategy is to use LSI keywords in place of your targeted keyword both to help search engines determine the topic of your post (Apple the product vs Apple the fruit) and to keep your keyword density between a certain percentage.

    Thank for your input Zwielict

Actually these are not one word keywords. Each keyword is either 2 words or more. I can produce good content for each keyword and also variate it a bit to target more keywords. However, I am planning to make a website with at least 100 articles within 2 months time frame. Shall we consider it a small website. I don't know?

I tried looking into the LSI keywords, but they are of high competition and low revenue or success rate.
