[Important bounce rate fix!] - Do you have a single page website?

Hello first of all thank you for the little code,
but what I don't understand is, before you used the code analytics showed 95% bounce rate and after the code some 20%, here is the question, how does google think it is 95% and why do they think it?
 
This code tells google to that your visitor is still on your site every 10 seconds by using the google API. So this will lower your bounce rate immensely.
 
yeah and without this code, google just generate a random number and thats the bounce rate?
 
lets say you have a single home page and thats it.

someone comes on your page and spends 40 min on it and then leaves because obviously there is no where else to click or go.

without this code google see that as a bounce. With this code google sees the time spent on the page and does not consider it a bounce.

a bounce is when someone leaves the page immediately or within 10 sec. I forget the exact details.
 
I've tried this to a website that didn't get much traffic like 1-2 a day and the bounce rate was actually reduce.
 
because if your visitor spends 5 min on your home page and then leaves google analytics sees that as a bounce. But with this google code you are telling google to look at time spent on page. A bounce is when a visitor leaves within 10 seconds or doesn't visit inner pages. So this is how you can fix that.

As you can see, before google thought my bounce rate was like 80-90% because I had a single page website. Now I told google to pay attention to the time spent on my site is is about 30 min. So a bounce is 10 sec or less so these stats are my REAL stats.
 
where exactly do I need to place this code ? Is it on the footer of my site or inside my analytic account . And where in my analytic acct should I place it ?

I put it on one of my MNS blogs last night. Since each post ranks for a specific keyword, visitors rarely go to different pages.

I doubt it will make a difference for SEO, since I believe google collects data client side through chrome or by timing when visitors return to the search results. But I still feel better not having a 90% bounce showing up in my analytics.

I have no data that it HELPS with ranking or anything like that. But I like to see real/correct data and this is a way to do that. It might help with serps? but i have no data on that.
