importance of google pagespeed

Hi,

I try to optimize my site using https://pagespeed.web.dev/ and I get an performance of 53!

I have a pretty good hosting and everything has been optimized as much as possible, but to be fair a decent 2026 site having all the nice design and interactive elements is almost impossible to improve the performance.

I mean yeah if I just put a plain html and no javascript and css and images etc... sure... but there is a long way from 53 to 100.

How serieus should I take that from google pagespeed? If I use https://tools.pingdom.com/ I see much beter result.

Any input or tips?
It's okay to question it. I would suggest that you use Google PageSpeed as a recommendation and not as a score you have to ace. Instead of trying to get 100, pay more attention to how users really use your site (Core Web Vitals, load speed, usability). For newer, interactive sites, tools like Pingdom and real-user data often give a more useful picture.
