hi all

I am planning to create some backlinks from edu/gov websites. I found very difficult to find related niche backlinks and very difficult to get comments backlinks. Finaly I have decided to go with profile links. How good edu/gov profile links. Will it be considered as spam ? I am planning to use just 3-4.

Thanks

I believe the .EDU and .ORG linkjuice have been exploited long back. Google caught up with these profile links as well and the impact won't be significant anymore. In short, don't expect these links to boost your SEO by a big margin. You need links that are relevant, high quality and coming from authority sites in your niche.

I really don't think this works anymore unless you are the author his/herself :/

EDU and GOV links are just like any other link, nothing special unless the page the link is on is special.

Go with naturally. Don't just do 100 links in a day. Go with 2 links on 1st day, 3 links on 2nd day, 4 links on 3day ......

Hope, you understand ! And yes Edu links still now giving value by Google

Both can be useful for link diversity (it helps not having all your backlinks coming from .coms) but .gov and .edus have lost the power they used to have a few years ago. In short, build some (just watch the OBLs as some of these sites have been spammed to oblivion) but don't overdo it nor expect anything special.

Don't rely only on edu profile backlinks.

Use them to 'diversify' your backlink footprint.

That's pretty much the only value they bring to the table unless you get actual article links from niche specific subcategories on an edu domain.

Quality backlinks always give you great juice. And YES .GOV & .EDU is still working. You can use this tool for finding quality .GOV and .EDU backlinks. (http://linksearching.com/)

It can't be spam. Build links step by step friend.

The real power of Edu and Gov are Contextual Gov and Edu links. If you can find a hook up or two (College kids often get a free blog at university with a edu extension) they can pass a good hunk of imaginary metrics like TF and Authority. They also make decent parasites.

Signature, Profile and Comment links do not do a great deal, even if they are edu or gov.

I have heard of many others using them. However, I do not think that they are all that great anymore either.

Just when I found out about .EDU and .GOV links and I'm looking forward to using it I see this.

Gov and Edu links have no SEO benefit inherently. They are usually considered to be of a high value because educational organizations and governmental institutions are closely connected with similar high profile and high PR websites in the form of a close network.
