I'm looking at building lists and whatnot and want to start with something free. Anyone have experience with Imnica Mail or MailChimp? Reviews seem pretty decent. I'm leaning towards Imnica Mail just because they provide the autoresponder free, MailChimp doesn't.

Old thread, but it came up in a Google search and I figured I'd chip in since no one else has.

I can't remember if I've used MailChimp or not. I have a few hundred subscribers in ImnicaMail (trying to import another 1500 as we speak, fingers crossed). It works. I don't think it has the greatest inbox rate. Will be switching to GetResponse soon, it seems to be the best right now. Aweber has been having problems recently.

What did you end up going with?

Here's another vote for GetResponse. Not crazy about their interface but love their features, and their API is quite useful as well. Been with them for years and never had inbox problems.

Thanks for resurrecting the thread. Actually I did try to go with Mailchimp but then they gave me some crap about how they cannot accept my website because it is "business related" or something. Didn't really understand. I am looking for more of a pay as you go, or multiple tiered payment system at the moment.
Might give a shot with ImnicaMail. I found GetResponse is $15 per month for 1000 subscribers, not sure if that is really worth it seeing as at the moment I can at best hope for a few hundred subscribers. But in the end it is about the inbox rate, no point spending money if the mails aren't going in the inbox.
I also recently got an email from some newsletter about this product http://www.freetrafficsystem.com/rapid-mailer-bonus-offer/ not sure if anyone has any experience? Seems to me like that it would be a good investment for the long run.

I wouldn't go with that product before doing research on it.

Once I'm in the 4 figure opt ins range, I'll export it to GetResponse and start mailing.
