is there any good places to get free images for blog posts...without all the confusing licensing stuff

There are lots of places that each host various images.

It's creative commons you are looking for, as these are free to distribute and use. Getty images. Co . UK is one that springs to mind.

Use google image search and don't forget to mention the source wherever you use them.

Morguefile offer free images. Just do a G search, and you will find more.

Personally, I don't worry about it. I just search G images and take what I like. If the owner of the image finds my site and asks me to remove it, then I will. And then I will go back on G images and find a replacement.

Go to USA DOT GOV and do an image search. Any image available online released by the US government is in the public domain unless I am severely mistaken. Google, "public domain images" and use these sites as well, but be warned that a lot of them are stock photo affiliates and sometimes mix up a lot of paid images in there public domain images.

sxc.hu is the best collection of free photo ever i found, its amazing. But you need to check the license for each images, as they vary.
