Hi guys, so from what I have read, the best balance of word count for an article would be about 1000 words and 3 images. What is the best way to obtain images? Just download free images and then type some sort of keyword on the picture itself? I watched a video and they said do not download the images from google as they can identify the image as being a copy/ not unique and will penalize our website. The guide suggested for us to as an example get a screencap from a youtube video which means it is unique? Any ideas ?

Go to Pexels or Pixabay. Find a relevant image. Download that image in the largest size you can.

Open that image in whatever photo editor you have. I run Mac, so I just open it in preview. I then crop the image a bit, resize to 1500 pixels wide if larger, and flip horizontally. If there are words I want to put in the image, this is when I do that.

Once I do this, I save the image and then, if it's a jpeg, run it through compressjpg.com, which drastically reduces the file size. The output file is then renamed something related to the article.

Congratulations, you now have a unique to Google image that has been through proper SEO paces.

Thanks - would google be able to identify that this image is a "copy" of the original or would it be more difficult since it has been processed by photoshop as an example ?
