I have managed to convince a struggling online shop to let me help them do better online for a small cut. It's a fashion based shop with loads of images..

Is there anything else I can do to improve the image SEO ?

So far i'm renaming the photos to #1 keyword and also adding alt text

The using a image sitemap and submitting it to google..

Anyway else I can do ?

Seems like you have it under control.

Just make sure to focus in on the keywords you are using for the alt tags. Do not put brand names, rather put ONE keyword phrase per image. if you have a lot of images this should not be a problem and will allow you to have a lot of exposure in the image search results.

the image alt tag will also be very beneficial.

that is all I can think of unless you want to build links to the individual image pages to help them rank.

    sweet,

I was thinking though some of my products have codes in them, do you think I coud add the keyword on the end of the code and still get away with it?
