Start mysql first before opening skype, and it works fine. Or you can change the port in skype too. Skype is a must have for IMers. Isnt it? Ha ha.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I have used almost all tips there are. Also, once my setup breaks because of Skype, I have to spend lot of time on making it work. Also Skype isn't a lifeline for me. I've worked without it with my clients for almost 3 years now. They are happy, I am happy, we are happy, and Skype has no role to play in it.
