Image ranking but Site not ranking?

means ur image SEO is great (image names, alt tags) but the rest needs more work. i also have images ranking very well, unfortunately that doesnt bring any proper traffic (at least not for my KW).
doing seo for your images will definitely not hurt your organic rankings but its just 1 small part of all the work you have to do.

yes. and at the same time, competition for the keyword may be different when optimizing it for web as compared to when optimizing it for image..
Most of the people dont work for image optimization where as they build links and do good on page optimization for web part..
I feel your pain, I have about 10 images that rank #1 or #2 in google images, bringing in a total of about 1000 people a day, but it is mostly garbage traffic with people just grabbing the image and going.

the thing is most people don't really give a crap about SEOing their images... which is why it is often easy to rank them.
I got your problem. I think the problem is in your keyword or the content of your site. Image ranking may not helpful for your site but a little but. To get better result you must need site ranking. Do SEO ( Search Engine Optimization) and SMO ( Social Media Optimization). Anothe suggestion for you, submit better content or rearrange the content of your site. It may work. Wish you all the best.
