I guess they both pass the same juice. maybe an image link means something different to google though. And how can they determine what the link is endorcing? It's not the same as having anchor text to determine the relevance is it.

mass spam, image links works great... just make sure you use shortner with it.
OR
Instead of uploading image from local , you can use image from your money page as image url....
eg. use image from money page, http://MoneySite.com/image1.jpg and embed it to any page and get image backlink. this pass good link juice to your money page.

I built a review/comparision kind of site and i'm reaching the top ranking companies in serp to place my "recommendation" badge on their sites Little will they know that they are actually helping me and i will eventually outrank them
