Image links. Do they help with SEO

Does google count links via images? I assume if alt text has keywords it will help.

I can't find any authority source that has tested rankings via image links.

I want to become a sponsor on a few websites that will link a image (logo) to my website and i want to know if it will help in SERPS.

Yes of course, it just considers the anchor text is an image. Make sure the names and the alt tags are keywrod rich
