Image Ads with nothing but Text

Anyone have experience running banners with nothing but text? We have seen low CPC and great results using image ads like a standard text ad. Comments?

They must be popular and do well. I create these everyday for clients. They keep wanting more, so i imagine they work.

Ensure they meet the quality standards of such services across the advertisement networks as it could end up with you getting squeezed and into a state of mind you can't easily get out of due to breaking banner image terms regarding looks and feels of industry standards.

Image ads with text inside them are easily the simplest ways to get more volume as well as competitive rates.
