I've made an iMacros macro which scrapes the embed code from video websites into a csv file, but the problem occurs when trying to use this csv file to input the extracted embed code in a WordPress blog.

For example if the macro extracted this embed code into a csv file:

    Code:
    <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/nJsxIZxGzIM&hl=en_GB&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/nJsxIZxGzIM&hl=en_GB&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>
And then I would use the csv file to input the embed code (using imacros) into a WordPress blog or in this case any input box, only this part of the embed code would actually copy:

    Code:
    <object width=
I've been trying to work my way around this problem by applying the basic rules of comma-separated values (in fact imacros does this for me) but it still doesn't function properly and messes up and instead of inputing the embed code it inputs the next column in the csv file.

Any ideas to solve this problem? :(

there are quite a few things that can go wrong there

    1. imacros expect [SP] instead of spaces (or "<SP>" if u are starting imacros from command prompt"

    2. also just open and see the csv in excel whether it recognises the whole embed code in one excel cell as sometimes there are problems with "". just check out imacros wiki whether it has any problems with "" in strings, mostly the problem would be due to reason no 1 itself.

If I were u i would only get the video url hxxp://3w.youtube.com/v/nJsxIZxGzIM&hl=en_GB&fs=1 and would have recorded the whole embed code in the imacro macro itself and would have changed only the video url as the whole embed code doesnot change its only the url that changes

    hope this helps

    1. I don't think this option would really apply in this case since the data is extracted into a csv file using iMacros, so I guess extracted data does not have to have the <SP> tags. Either way if <SP> tags were the problem then I would also be having problems with data such as video titles and I don't so number 1 isn't the problem.

    2. Yes, I've already done this, the embed code is recognized by excel in one cell. I'm still not convinced about the <SP> tags being the problem since then I would be getting problems with other similar data extraction macros.
I've searched the iMacros wiki too, and google, can't seem to work out what the error is. I mean I know it must be something to do with the quotation marks because I've managed to get the whole embed string filled into a form but then again other data from the csv file wouldn't properly input.

    3. I thought there was a no3? Well either way, the last thing about the embed code you wrote, well the whole code for each video was scraped using iMacros so yeah the embed code is all the same throughout the whole csv file, only the links change.

In my opinion it's either iMacros that's a piece of shit, or csv files can't handle that many quotation marks. I may be wrong though, it might be that I need more quotation marks? I really don't know.

the fastest way to the solution would be to post in imacros user forums. They are quite good in solving problems and i generally get a response within 24 hrs.

Btw, just try escaping " in the csv with \ and try

If still it dosent work send me the macro and I will test it myself
