iMacros or recording program?

Ok I have a repetitive task that I want to automate and just wondering if someone had a way to do it.

I have a Google Excel Sheet with ~xxk lines that I want the program to go through, and in each line there's a twitter user's @ name that i want to go to, get their follower count, and return & print it in the next cell next to the line on the excel sheet. How would I do this in iMacro or if theres another way im all ears?

Mo you cannot do that with iMacros as it does not use Xpath or Regex

It can be done with iMacros. OP can use the Excel (.csv) file as datasource. The file should contain one username per line and he needs to play the macro in loop. In the first loop iMacros goes to the username in the first line, in the second loop to the second line etc. Extracting the result into the appropriate line of the .csv file is also easy, there's a command for that.

OP, you're lucky. I made an extractor with iMacros a while ago, i posted an updated version of it a few months ago here: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/t...r-of-followers-in-bulk.1111470/#post-12014003. Hopefully it still works, because nowadays i'm too lazy to turn my computer on, so i won't be able to correct it, but probably you can, if needed. I'm posting from my tablet usually. :)

Cool, I thought it could be done with iMacros just wasnt totally sure how. The thing about my data is that besides each @ name theres also text in the cell, so its structured as "RT @(username): xxxx". You know of an easy way to extract just the @username , or a way to delete everything but? Figured theres an excel shortcut or something for this as well but im coming up blank. - edit: nvm found out how lol

Thanks for that extractor though. Will look into it.

Yes, you can remove the junk with Excel. Is that how the lines are formatted exactly? If yes, copy-paste everything into a single cell and simply split it by the parenthesis delimiters. It will require two runs, one for the opening parenthesis and another one for the closing paranthesis, if there are such expressions in English. lol So as a final result you'll have all the usernames under each other in a single column.

Speaking of in the post you linked earlier you wrote it works with the standalone iMacros browser. Is that still around? Cant seem to find it so I'll try it with Firefox and hopefully it works.

Wow, I realize file access isn't available in the iMacros free version... so unless I spend $100 not sure if I'll be able to make it work lol.

I made the macro with the standalone browser and they more often don't work with the browser addons than they do. Browser addons do some things differently and have some limits, especially lately.

Unfortunately twitter doesnt seem to respond when using the iMacros browser.. well for me atleast. I can go to google using it but not twitter. Weird.

That's weird, maybe they blocked the browser by fingerprint. Anyhow, someone else posted a code above, which can be used with Firefox apparently, try that.

Ok I've done that and iMacros doesnt run it. Say's there an error at line (NaN) or something
 
Error in line NaN means 1 of these case,
- Make sure you save the script in .js
- Make sure you have "twitter-username.txt" file in your datasource folder

Well now I get a "unknown command: FOR, line 1 (Error code: -910)" when trying to start it.

You haven't saved it in .js ... I believe its still in .iim
They doesn't recognized "FOR" statement in .iim

Bruh... I've been saved it as a .js file since the start. Idk what you're talking about.
 
What about creating a google sheet with all your data and using a Google Apps script ?
