Back to topic: I'm actually wishing I discovered IM before...rather than get stuck in the rat-race I'm in right now. You're young...and you will learn faster and be far more creative than old dogs like me (I'm 26 by the way).

If I'm on your shoes, I'd go for IM instead of school, although the repercussions from your pops might make it harder to bank (ground you, no internet access, etc.). Why not explain things to your father? Tell him what your plans are. That should, at least, show that you are thinking not just for the short term.

Honestly if you think you're smart enough you can basically BS your way through most of your classes and still learn a lot. And if you're really smart you can make money. If you're taking AP classes they usually offer summer assignments, you can get your classmates to pay you to do it for them, keep all the separate documents that you do for your classmates and sell it to the incoming class next year. Oh and kids at school are suckers for popularity; meaning they're perfect targets to sell followers and likes, but don't market yourself that way market yourself as if you could just promote them on your already popular blog/site/twitter/whatever. Take advantage of your time in school. Never stop thinking. Don't give up on anything. Just try to do everything.

The education in what works in your industry such as this one which cant and wont be taught at school.Unless your going to be a brain surgeon then go to school thats something that cant be taught with experience on your own thats for sure but this industry yes you can succeed very far without traditional education.

Mate, not every IMer is from BHW Some bank really hard, but they interact offline or with their local forums since they don't speak English.

I'm also new but I do bank hard, but you could, of course, refuse to believe me.

Definitely school...but you can do both...easily!

The first three years of school are pointless, then the next two years are even worse. Unfortunately for Kids in the UK it's getting worse, they now have to stay in School until they're 18, LOL just another scheme to stop unemployment rising

I am in the same situation.. My parents want me to finish school, but I actually feel like I don't learn anything there. IM gives me a nice income. But still, I recommend you to focus on school. Keep doing your IM thing, but combine it with school. I'm outsourcing a lot of my projects, maybe this is something good for you to do? Good luck mate!

Here's the opinion of someone who has been in your position.
I had the exact same choice a number of years ago, when I graduated high school and was making a bunch of money.
I felt that school was not the place for me, and a few years later I can honestly say that I was both right and wrong..
The social factor of school is what you're really going to miss dude. University is fucking FUN!!! It'll be the best times of your life if you go.
What I did after high school was move to a university town with my friends, and lived the uni party life - it rocked. It made me want to go to school.
However, I focused on my career instead. It was my passion and there was nothing anyone could say or do that would change my mind.

Here's the kicker.. All my friends are now finishing up university and looking for jobs. That degree is NOT helping them AT ALL. I went through some pretty hard times in building up my career.. but I can honestly say that I am now comfortable, and it's all those students that are in rough waters now.

People have to put more value into self education... When you educate yourself to the point of absolute professionalism in a field, there are people and company owners that WILL see that. I run the SEO department in a marketing firm (plus have tons of other clients on the side + day trade) and today I interviewed a person with a masters degree for a TELEMARKETING position... The guy really wanted and needed the job.

So for those people who say school is necessary.... I say do it to have fun. But never never never NEVER forget your career choice because if you think school will take care of your future... you're wrong.
Unless of course you're the person who's the top .5% at school, but that's another story.

..Final point being stick to school at least till you graduate high school. If you're making good money, go to college/uni for the fun and experience (in the end that's all it is).

Im 16bro and I been an Im since I was 13 . started of with doing surveys for 0.2cents now years Laters I do seo marketing and I have 4 clients and I make 15k/month From only 4 client. can school teach you how to do that no. I have the skills to run a multi million$$$ business. all from experience. When you believe you can you can.

Just finish highschool take a break of 2 years and see what you can do.

In my country where i live education is terrible.This year is my last for school and am so happy to finis it.I got good grades and only 6 students made to third grade,out of 180.As someone mentioned before, yes it is important in life.Work your ass of achive as much as you can, and in the long run you won't regret it.I love IM but when school get in way everything else back up.

Totally get where you are at man. I hated school and still do and have always had an entrepreneurial mind but I have to say even though they teach a whole lot of BS in school that you will never use it was still a good lesson for me. School should be 1st priority with IM right next to it. At least until you graduate from high school. Not too much longer man. It goes by quickly. Especially if IM doesnt end up working out for you its not like you flunked HS. You learn some good self discipline and get to meet lots of people your age that can come handy in the future.

I always hated school, but you need it to function in today's world.

cover all your bases, finish school, develop some "real world" skills to fall back on if IM doesn't pan out.

btw i think it really depends on the country you live in
for example

in my country
you study 10-11 years in school
then you study 4-6 years in the university
after that you get a diploma abouth the highest education
so people spend around 14-17 years to get the highest education

And what do they get after that? I'll tell you what:
1)more than 70% (official statistics) work on a job NOT related to their education area AT ALL, because it's more profitable to be just a security guard in a local shop than go to a job which requires your diploma

2)people who work on the jobs which require their highets education earn on average 500$ a month...FIVE HUNDRED bucks a month after FIFTEEN (on average) YEARS OF STUDYING. FIFTEEN (!!!) that like 25% of your WHOLE life time which u spent on studying your ass of to get 500$ a month? really? FUCK THAT i say. FUCK THAT!


i don't really know, maybe in USA if you are a high educated person yo ucan make 10k+ on official job easily...maybe in that case it's reasonable
But when u spend like 15years to study like hell and then work for the rest of your like for NOTHING (and 500$ is nothing compared to the efforts you have to make to get that shitty diploma) that is total BS i think.

Make a simple calculation.

I know you are probably amazed by your current results, but keep in mind some day Internet might END, therefore IM will end.

I'm not saying this is going to happen 100% within our lives, but just like everything, it might end up shortly or a bit later.

If you graduate you will have the knowledge + title for the rest of your life.

Taking into account the society we live in, you will be treated with higher respect by having finished school + you will be able to get 9-5 job once IM dies.

If IM ends within 5 years you will have to start the school from the beggining with some kind of mental discomfort.

On your place I would focus both on school and IM.

These are 2 separate things and I wouldn't mix them up.

The fact you are making a bank at the age of 15 does not make you (in some case) better than anybody else in your age.

It means you have some kind of better understanding of the IM than others have.

Both are beneficial, but I wouldn't take advantage of one , by leaving behind the other one.

You can have both, some day school ends and you can go full time with IM.
