I'm torn between quick indexing and shitty linking

I have a smallish network of sites with constant Googlebot presence. So what ever I link to from within, gets indexed if it's not complete shit.

Now I can block link stats bots like ahrefs etc. to prevent the links from being visible there, but I still have to allow Googlebot if I want to have the pages in the index.

This ofc leads to google seeing a small bunch of unrelated and mostly spammy links to the sites I want to index.

Which leads to the topic of this thread. How bad is having some spammy links for a small while?

It's not worth it, I had a domain where I tried such dirty things for experimental purposes, Google turned its back, lol

Any vaguely successful website who's backlink profile I look at will have some 'spammy links' - it's the nature of the internet. If your website ranks for anything then the scrapers will be at it sooner or later. Just make sure it's not completely obvious that the sites you're linking from have the same owner as the target.
