I'm thinking about hiring a PPC Expert from Elance.com

Also check oDesk for experts. Elance is pretty good but you can't always find what your looking for

Hey guys just reviving this thread. All of the comments have been very helpful. I agree becoming your own expert is really the only long-term solution. But my business can't wait for me to catch up, so I'm going to get the car going while I run after it for a while!

I too am looking for a PPC manager for very small scale campaigns (1,200/month, spread over 4 campaigns) on elance. Has anyone got any names based on good experiences to share besides Yasmin? I'd like to use Elace as the payment gateway so that escrow and milestones are in place. These small scale campaigns would act as testers and would grow as we find our way to effective buys.

My ideal candidate is an individual who wants to treat my campaigns like their their own campaigns. Looking for someone who I would pay low base fee per month plus a decent percentage of ROI.

Right now my only leads are Yasmin on Elance plus a few big names that are too expensive for me. Any suggestions would be great. Thank you.

I have done work on Elance, I think it's a good way for freelancers who are just starting out to build a client base. I would make sure you thoroughly interview, though.

Just saw that you're still looking for someone. I just started freelancing again and would love to have a convo with you. You can PM me if you'd like to have a discussion!

I'm on eLance too. I don't know Yasmin personally but she appears competent in PPC and have seen her name on eLance many times, winning away some jobs from me. There are others too of course that I've seen over the years. Those of us who have been on eLance awhile get much of the PPC work it seems.

Other names I've seen often there and assume are all excellent:Rocco Baldassarre (he writes on Search Engine Journal and Entrepreneur), Jason Rothman, Shanee Suzanne Kirk and Dan Hall.

There are companies too such as Redfly Digital, Recession Rebirth and *********. Note I know little about them and, like myself doing business as Lucid Web Marketing, may be individuals or may be small teams or large companies. Ten Thousand Foot View is one of those, a gentleman by the name of Ed that I did some work for once.

So take your pick.

I am thinking about hiring an expert PPC team from elance.com and I wanted to hear from people that have or are already doing this.

Please share your experiences; what can I expect; what should I think about; what would you do differently in thinking back?

I found someone that has 50% repeat customers and 100% 5 stars / positive feedback and they are top 5% in adwords. How much do they normally charge per month (no including the actual budget for the adwords/PPC promotions) ?

Elance is highly biased towards the Job posters and works against contractors with good reputation. On Elance you can pretty black mail a good company with full 5 star reviews into doing exactly as you want or else they will have their first 1 star negative review :).

The charges can be easily compared as you will receive numerous bids for your project and you should invite some of the reputed companies to bid on your project.

Regards
