You just gotta start looking man. Search (i.e. how to rank youtube video in googe), read it, apply it, learn from it, then refine things. There is no magic formula. In short, to rank a YouTube vid quickly (and keep it there), you need:
1. A video - make it however you want. Ideally 2 mins +
Place vid as unlisted on your account after uploading (this DOES work)
2. Send ~1000 HR views. You don't need more than this. Also send with it some likes and subscribers.
3. Buy ~600 social bookmarks. Can be bought here from bookmark hero. Costs around #3
4. Take off unlisted and build backlinks. Use cheap pyrimaind services like seo gladius, seo pez, and backlink massacre (all here) as a 'base'. Next buy some high-pr blog posts (loads in link building forum)
5. Monitor your video placement. Add authority to your channel by adding 2-3 different videos with the same keyword you are trying to rank your main video for. Do the same for a completely separate account (use proxy) and get links pointed back to your main original.
6. Add further authority by creating and linking a google+ account to your youtube account. Create picture, and fill out fields.
7. Continue backlinking, social media (drip fed - retweets, fb likes etc) and drip feed views to further boost video ranking.
8. That about wraps it up. Now get cracking!
