I'm scammed or something else

Hi Guys...

Give me your views please. In last days of Feb, One guy here on BHW asked for a freelancer. And i pm'ed him and we fixed the deal.. He said he will be paying the whole money within 7 days after project completion. I worked for like 1 month on his project and did a decent job, spent around 8 -9 hours daily on his project. Project was completed on 28th March. Total amount i worked for is around $1300. So he was supposed to pay the whole money on first week of April. Then he was in contact with me... He was going to send me money through Money gram. But from last week he is not coming online on skype. I called on his cell which is continually going on voice mail. I have not get my money yet..

What is the issue.. Has he scammed me or something wrong happened to him. He was to nice to me while the process was going on... It was my first online project. So i don;t have much knowledge about it.

So Please give me your views...

Hope you get your money, working a full month 8-9h per day and being scammed... would be horrible

What you describe , its usually a scammers pattern, when the time to pays come, they simply vanish

If its BHW member..check when he log in last time..try to trace him somehow...if you dont get any respond soon..post proof of deal and alert other members to not fall on that potential scammer.

Not yet actually.. I'm not sure yet if that guy has scammed me or he really having some hard time.... I have his name,phone number, address.. But he is in USA maryland.. And i'm here in India... How and What i can do?

OP, did you send him the project?

If so, you won't see that money :S
But if you haven't, then make pay him first and send him the project after.

So what? Do you have any guarantee that all those infos are real? If you check here http://www.fakenamegenerator.com/ you will find more than 1 fake address and not just for USA.
If he is a member of this forum post a detailed thread in shit list section and a moderator will try to take care of him. In the future try not to be so naive, its for your own good.

Yes the info is real.Because he has not provided me that information. I collected that from internet. He has registered his company on every social website. No local directories. with same name number and address...

I would try contacting him on social networks too. If he has a strong reputation online he wont want that ruined. So if you already sent him the project you might have a little leverage with his reputation.

Last time he came online on BHW on 26th March. Last online came on skype on 12th April.

This is probably too late, but next time make sure you agree to be paid at 'milestones'. If the buyer doesn't pay at the first step, then end it. This ensures that you don't waste your time & skills on bottom-feeders.

Is it possible to sell the work, or try to monetize it somehow?

if you sent project and you know he's seen some of your messages and ignored you
most likely a scam
try and msg him from a new account for whatever reason and see if he answers

I agree.... project was completed 1 month ago. You can't contact the dude, he ain't contacting you. It is time to get the Mods involved and get this issue resolved.

If you wanna be the nice guy you can send him one last message demanding payment for your services or else you will open a shitlist thread against him. But i would just do it right now cause unless he is dead or in a coma... they aint no fucking excuse for not paying someone for their work!

You should start a new shitlist thread with the BHW username in the title. Post a link to the thread that he posted asking for freelance services. Any skype, email, or PM conversations that you have discussing payment details and scheduling.

Please refrain from posting any personal info about the user as it is against the rules here. Only post info and conversations needed to prove that you actually had an agreement with the user and that you completed and delivered the work.

Then PM a Moderator informing them that you opened a shitlist thread. They will get involved and will take the reins from there. The issue will be resolved one way or another. You may get paid or you may not, but at the end of the day the issue will be resolved.
