Im on position 45 for a massive keyword, what should i do now?

I hadnt been trying to rank for it but its the root single word of a long tail.

The website is around 1 year old now as i just renewed the other day.

Interestingly I havent done seo on it in ages and I hadnt been getting any money to speak of from the longtail 4k kws its at position 8 for. Id just been adding some pinterest traffic ignoring seo and suddenly the big kw pops in 45. So maybe coincidence or maybe a correlation to social signal's weight.

Anyhow I dont really have any money to invest at the moment if it wont deifnitely pay off.

I have gsa and zenno so could do web 2 and blasting but is that pointless these days? since i havent done seo in 6 months and dont want to tank it so not sure if it will make it worse?

So two questions. What can i do in the interim with no money to maybe boost it without risking tanking my current rankings.

And 2 what coud i spend money on once i do have money to invest?

You can't do anything worthwhile without money, unless you want to submit guest posts and reach out to other bloggers to link to your site. You probably want to make sure your website/content is link-worthy before doing any form of outreach.

Well if I had money how much would i need considering where im currently at and the root term is in the millions

because if i hit even the bottom of page 1 i would be laughing and could then afford to pay money on seo to invest in keeping and gaining ranks from the profit.

is web 2s and gsa blasting worthless now? hey it got me this far over the period of a year...
