I'm new and Need help!

Hey guys I'm new to marketing and could use some advice from some experienced guys. Basically I created a product that has tips and tricks from a Professional gamer on how to beat your friends at Halo Reach. So far I have had limited success. The product has sold fairly well for the number of people who have seen it but in my opinion book the sales aren't cutting it. People who have bought it really like it.

My strategy was make a free guide that was a teaser, but in order to get the free guide people had to sign up for my newsletter. So far I have about 150 people who have signed up for my free newsletter and about 22 purchases of the guide. I was hoping that since their was a free product tons of people would sign up. I posted my free product on a thread and had about 4000 views but only 150 sign ups.

Basically I'm coming on here looking for advice. I had about 150 click throughs on google adwords and it cost me about 100 dollars and only 4 people bought from google.

I'm looking for some advice on how I can get this out to people.

Make some video guides and upload to youtube.

Sell on clickbank maybe?
Talk about your product on forums related to your niche.
Create a facebook group
Follow twitter users that like the game and start talking with them
etc.

Good ideas. Do you guys have any suggestions for making my sales page more efficient or higher ranked on google?

Actually, I think it would be a better idea to create a website that ranks well for related keywords and then direct visitors to your sales page from there. You could also offer your free guide on that site instead: in my experience it's easier to attract affiliates if you don't have any optin on your sales page.

So If I were making a website for the keywords Halo guide, and Halo reach guide, how would I make a website that ranks high on google?

SEO not so simple as you may think and keywords you choose are a bit competitive. BTW instead of asking questions start read forum.

Lol I can already tell. I'm all about putting in the hours to learn what I need to. Could you point me in the direction of some starting out threads. This form is somewhat overwhelming for a new member and determining what would be useful to learn at this stage would be difficult for me.
