I'm looking for a thread.

Kind of silly to create a thread to look for a thread but I can't for the life of me, find what I'm looking for.

So I'm looking for a thread which was posted here about a month ago, and it featured an article about a guy who used a different tactic to grow his e-mail list. He used a content locked community (like a forum), to which only people who subscribed to him had access, and his email list skyrocketed.

I'm looking for either the article or the thread since I would like to read this method again.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
