Im looking at getting a website built

So im looking to get a website built, template, logo etc, been looking around google and see alot of companies, but thought maybe its better to get a freelancer or something?

Whats the best process for this? are companies on google the better option? or are they rip offs and im better off going to freelance? also do designers etc need passwords and admin logins?

I'm not gonna put any names here but i saw bunch of markets on the web that offer themselves as a middle-man if you wish between a buyer and web programmer . Google it out
