I'm interested in hiring a writer, how does it work?

Hi Guys,

I am starting a new site now. While I will build the main app and functionality, I would like a few extra "informative" pages that explain specifics about the industry I operate in.

The plan is not to write that myself, but rather hire a person on here or similar to compose.

For example, I would like to provide the person with some key information and links. The author would then read up on the items and create some articles for me based on the information. I was thinking maybe a 3 part series overview then maybe from time to time some blog articles etc.

How well has that worked for people in the past and what kind of rates can I be expected to pay?

Most are between $1 and $10 per 100 words. In my time writing for BHW members, I charged between $7 and $9 per 100 typically. Now I focus on larger-scale projects (10,000 words and up).
