IF you dont' want to refund, then just hire someone to do it for less - freelancer / bhw/dp are a great place to get it done for cheap.

think about it.

lol.... outsource to someone on fiverr that does know about WP.

People, his problem is solved already...

The problem is resolved, I actually found someone to help get a website up and running for my client... we should be finish working on it by tonight! Thanks everyone! that was a poor business move on my behalf! We learn from our mistakes though, right?! If push came to shove I would have refunded my client his money back, and did a website for him for free, after learning.... that is how considerate I am. Thanks!

I'm all into helping people but I think you're a grade A asshole for taking on this job when you have no idea how to do it. People like you make the industry look bad, and those companies have a hard time trusting anyone in the industry thereafter.

Just make up something and tell him you can't do the work, give him back his money, and don't come near this industry again until you learn how to do it first.

I think some of you are being a little too hard on him, Ok he has bid for a job he can't do .... many millionaires say, 'never say no' to any job, say yes then work out how to do it. and that's what e has done, got off his ass :-) - The problem would have been if he cocked the job up or let down/ripped off the customer.

But he took a bit of a risk and its worked out ok (it may not have granted) but he now has a new skill, and a mate who can help him ;-)

He already said he got it done.. why keep posting suggestions/advice? The problem is resolved.

Generally this is not a big problem if the price is right, few times I was forced to hire someone else to do my job because I couldn't do it and I still ended up with a profit.

Better to give a full refund and apologize to the one who hired you.
I can not understand why you did take the job since you have no clue how to implement it.

You will finally outsource it and will pay even more than you paid for
Better be careful next time
