    Hi

I have a big problem and just looking for sound advice on how to get out of it.

I have a company registred and to cut a long story short I havent been very honest with the revenue and I have signed for tax returns that I wasnt due to receive. It all mounts to the sum of 30000 american dollars.

What should I do? I want to come clean but I dont think that theres any turning back.

I thought that maybe setup a fire in the office and burn all company records could solve it. If thats the case would the revenue have any prove against me?

Please im really desperate I would turn back time and do it diferently if I could!

I agree freeadvice should steer you in the right direction. With that in mind: You can amend the return and ofcourse payback the money (plus interest and penalities).

    Good Luck!

free advice is going to tell you the same thing, amend the return and come clean. It is not about the money. You can work that out with em. Pay for the rest of your life etc if you had to. it is about no jail time. that is what we are talking about. free advice is not going to cut it. You have to come clean and you need to be ready with an attorney when you do it. Odds are nothing is going to happen besides some hefty fines and penalties and like i said u can set up payment program for that. You need to be ready for worse case scenario. Setting a fire will only dig the hole deeper. Set it straight, you'll be alright. Don't waste time. Make sure you get a tax attorney, no other kind. It will work out. Good Luck. The sooner you amend the better off it will be. Right now you have the chance because of timing. They are getting more and more returns now. As the ramp up and get busy allot of stuff just slips through the cracks. Talk to a tax attorney, he is gonna set u straight and get your amended return with a check in asap.

Do not burn the office down or anything like that you can get yourself into some major shit. Say you made a mistake, pay the money back + any xtra fees and pay for 1 hour advice with a good attorney. If you come clean you should be cool, but may have to pay some fines (just make the money via blackhat!)

You cant run from the tax man!!

    Home Page:
    Get an attorney,
    set up a payment plan.
Focus on making your fortune elsewhere,
and pay back the rest of the money when you make it big =]
    DO NOT burn anything down,
White collar crime is fairly common. Hence the fines.
Arson? Prison time man. DONT DO IT!

I would not burn down the office, but i would do like everyone else said and get a tax attorney and see what they have to say, most likely its going to be return the money, and then you may have to go to court, im not an attorney so i cant say. Some lawyers have free consultation so get your phone book out or go to yellowbook.com and find one closest to u. ;) Best of luck.

I'm wondering why this is this guy's first post... why not go to a tax or legal forum to ask about this... why would you come here?

Wow! I've seen some things in my life, but folks its not right to joke about suicide and I'd guess that the reason scarface is posting here is out of 2 - Ds - depression and desperation. Let's play nice folks, we've all been in a place where we felt that way while it may not be taxes it could be a situation with a child, spouse, parent, or so on.

There is a saying "..everyone has done something screwed up enough to drop into a 30-second ad" which came from the political realm.

Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer, nor do I play one on TV and you should not listen to a word I say after reading this disclaimer.

You say you signed for tax returns that you were not due to receive as in tax returns of others or claiming less income than you actually earned?

Either way, the best thing you can do take a deep breath and relax - and stop trying to escape. You sound very desperate, so one of the things you should do is talk to two types of professionals (1) a really good attorney who can help you resolve this and try to relax a bit

Don't feel rotten - lots of people owe back taxes including probably some of the members of this forum, and many politicians. 450,000 federal employees and retirees and this is just those - not counting those who are employed, business owners, and the like. That's the problem with the income tax system - but I digress.

Now, before I mention number two professional to talk to, I also want you to realize that setting fire to the records could bring some major charges including, but not limited to: arson, destruction of property, tax evasion (the fire would really upset IRS), tampering with evidence, and if anyone was mistakenly injured or property was you would be charged with that, too.

That's the desperation and depression talking, and you have to quiet that voice or you will go insane, so you really need to seek the help of a qualified professional to speak with, but talk to the attorney first as what he tells you might alleviate the problem, but if not talk to a pastor, priest, counselor, psychologist, or someone, anyone.

By reading this post I am a bit concerned about your thinking and where you are going with this, but you need to talk to an attorney, and a professional to help your psyche - and in most cases you can work out a payment plan with the IRS - they really just want your money, the tax code is over nine-million words and counting, and when you call their office ten times with the same question you get ten totally different answers. You aren't the first one to have your stress load maxed out by them, and will not be the last.

Remember though, behind the letters IRS there are people, some good, bad, and indifferent that mostly hate their job, and afraid to tell people what they do for a living, so I always go out of my way to be kind to them, and have never had a problem with a government agency - they are just people.

I wish you the best of luck and I hope it works out for the very best - and please do seek professional guidance in this - and you will say "Thank You" later. I wish you well scarface.

If there was more people like you surely this world would be a safer and kinder place. Thank a lot to you all. Specialiy when this was actually a mistake from me that I found this forum. LMMFAO!!! It's the first hit! Though you do have to spell it "pro-fraud forum" :D

One of my very best mentors/teachers who is so 'blackhat' in the off-line world, you would be amazed used to tell me, "the IRS are a bunch of nazi-rat-fucking-bastards, but ya gotta pay 'em." "No sense getting tossed in the clink when you can just give 'em some money and they'll leave you alone."

    ;)
