Give me a good chuckle listening to your rantings/situational offshoots. I'd say it was a nice little starter point for newbies, as it was intended. I agree that too many people get caught up in spending money, and wanting instant gratification with little to no work.
TLDL:
1. Know what you're getting into.
2. Form your plan (or strategy), being assured of how you will get to your endpoint.
3. Specifics are necessary. Break your plan down so you can execute.
4. Pace yourself for a month on your plan. Don't spend any money on this whatsoever, and don't deviate.
5. If and when your plan starts reciprocating and can be replicated, scale up.
6. If your plan doesn't work, you can change things up, deviate, or experiment based on informed and educational decisions.
Notes:
1. Be disciplined about this. Strategic, operational, and executional discipline.
2. Don't just throw money at things. Yes, you can spend money once you have the plan in place, but make sure they are tools that can actually help you.
3. Don't be fooled. You may need to keep your dayjob while this is happening.
